Christine Molitor Johnson

Christine Molitor Johnson began her study of art, while in graduate school, in the fall of 1994 .  In the past, she worked in the ‘plein aire’ under the guidance of Adeline Goldminc-Tronzo, Kevin J. Shea and Donald Demers. She has studied painting with Pat Lutz and JC Airoldi and drawing with Alan Bull. She considers herself to be a ‘life-long learner’ in her study of art.

She is a member of the Seacoast Art Association and the Newburyport Art Association where she has exhibited in a variety of their juried shows. Christine is a member of the plein aire groups 'Women in the Wild' and the ‘Band of Brushes’.

Christine received a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a M.Ed. in Creative Arts from Lesley University at Cambridge, Mass.

Her paintings can be found in private collections throughout New England, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Bermuda and Ireland.

Artist's quote - " Painting in the 'plein aire' is the idyllic creative environment for me. The beauty of the moment inspires me. I enjoy capturing the nuances of nature and the luminosity of the landscapes, water and skies that surround me. Continually I am striving for an expressive and textured nature in my brushwork. Painting has become one of the most fulfilling and meaningful experiences in my life."
